About YouTube Dislikes Viewer
Bringing back transparency to YouTube videos.
YouTube Dislikes Viewer is a free, open web tool that lets anyone check the estimated dislike count, like count, and like-to-dislike ratio for any public YouTube video. We built it because YouTube’s decision to hide the public dislike count in November 2021 took away a useful signal that helped viewers gauge whether a video was worth watching.
Why Dislikes Matter
The dislike count was more than just a number. It was a quick way to spot misleading thumbnails, scams, low-quality tutorials, and content that the wider audience disagreed with. After YouTube removed it, many viewers lost a tool they relied on to make better viewing decisions.
Studies and community feedback have shown that the missing dislike count makes it harder to identify problematic content - especially misinformation, fake giveaways, and manipulated tutorials. Our goal is to put that signal back in front of users who want it.
How the Data Works
We do not collect, store, or compute dislike data ourselves. Instead, we query the Return YouTube Dislike API, an independent project that combines:
- Archived dislike data captured before YouTube hid the metric.
- Real-time aggregated data from users of the Return YouTube Dislike browser extension.
- Statistical extrapolation to estimate the wider audience response.
The numbers shown are estimates and not the official YouTube count. We clearly attribute the source on our homepage and in our documentation.
What Makes Us Different
- No installation required. Just paste a URL and see results - no extension to install.
- No login or sign-up. The tool is completely anonymous and free to use.
- Bilingual. Available in English and Indonesian.
- Mobile-friendly. Works on phones, tablets, and desktops.
- Open and transparent. We attribute our data sources and explain how the tool works.
Who Built This
YouTube Dislikes Viewer is built and maintained by MammiriWeb, a small independent web studio focused on lightweight, useful tools. We are not affiliated with YouTube, Google, or the Return YouTube Dislike project.
